Tree River: World Record Char

Surrounded by magnificent buttes and over a hundred miles North of the Arctic Circle, Tree River rushes into the Arctic Ocean only a few miles down river from our camp. The Tree River is known as the best Arctic Char river in the world, holding the current 32 pound world record. You can spend your time chasing the magnificent and brightly coloured Arctic Char or you can have your Inuit guide take you to Cornation Gulf where you can sit on a cliff and gaze out over the ocean...what a feeling!!

Spring, summer and fall are condensed into July and August, with beautiful arctic flora and fauna everywhere.

Tree River is twisting white water, thundering waterfalls, flower-carpeted islands, and calm placid stretches with clear pools teaming with char.
